History
The Blackened Forge guild was founded in October of 2002. At that time, we were not called the
Blackened Forge. Rather, we were just a group of people that met in Asheron's Call 2 and found
that hanging out, grouping, and questing together was a rather fun way to play. The following
months found us meeting many new friends, some of whom joined our guild. During that time, we
decided to merge with another guild, and we soon grew to about 30 dedicated players and about
another 10-15 casual players.
It was at that time that we made the determination to name ourselves and become the Blackened
Forge. The name comes from a combination of one of the founding members and guild leader, The
Blacksmith, and the fact that we "Forged" a group with another guild.
A few months later, the guild decided that AC2 was no longer the game we thought it was or should
be. So we packed our backpacks, stowed our swords and armor, and picked up our blasters. It was
off to Star Wars Galaxies for us. The Blackened Forge quickly made a name for itself by being one
of the first guilds to erect one of the prominent PA Halls.
Again, the unsatisfactory nature of SWG forced us to put away our blasters. In October of 2003,
much of the guild swapped Wookies for Taru Tarus and we formed a guild in Final Fantasy XI. Again,
the Blackened Forge made a name for itself when Aen spent countless hours taking screenshots of
items and posting them on Allakhazam's website. Then, The Blacksmith developed a
fishing resource website. Along the way, we added several more guild members.
